For this project, I decided with the time constraints to just keep it simple, both stylistically and in terms of the story. I ended up making a story about finding a kitten outside one night. A series of options in the beginning allows the user to either investigate, find the kitten, and bring it inside, or ignore the noises from outside, or find it and call animal control to take care of it. From there, the game ends if the user ignores it in any capacity, but if they choose to bring it inside, a series of choices are presented to the user of how to care for it.
Sprinkled throughout the story are a few clickable easter eggs that lead to surprises like the kitten being an alien and returning to its mothership, the kitten having a bunch of friends (other kittens) hiding in the bushes with it, and the kitten being some sort of eldritch abomination when fed after midnight. These easter eggs were admittedly added as a bit of an afterthought, but I'm really glad I decided to put them in, as I think they're pretty silly and add another (secret) layer to this story.
I'm really happy with how the finished product came out honestly. Originally my drawings were going to be in color rather than just black line art, but I was having some difficulties with photoshop on my iPad and adding in the color details on my laptop was taking too much time, so I ended up simplifying it to the black line art that is in the finished project and focusing on adding color with the background and buttons. I think if I had more time to work on it, I would've figured out the color situation for the drawings and gifs, but overall, I'm still really pleased with how it turned out.
