Net.art seems to be a very specific type of art that was accidentally created in the 1990s. Quite honestly, this reading was really hard for me to understand. It seems to be directed toward a specific group of people who already know what net.art is or have a decent background with computers. From what I can tell from the article, it seems to be discussing how net.art came about, as well as prolific aspects and people involved with it. It does seem like net.art combines art with aspects of early internet and coding, and I think it incorporated things like email, html, and other forms of software into it.
Honestly, I'm still not entirely sure what all net.art entails after reading this article. However, the way I interpret it is that it combined mundane aspects of early internet (like I mentioned before with emails, etc.) and what art could be. I think it's a cool way to view and make art, and it definitely was only possible with the rise in computer technology in the 1990s and 2000s. I think that it probably wouldn't be possible to recreate what net.art was today, because I think it relied on the simplicity of what the internet used to be. Now, there's such an overwhelming tide of constant information and media online that I think it would detract from any meaning net.art could have if we tried to recreate it from scratch today. (I could be wrong of course, because like I said I still don't fully understand net.art as a concept, though I'll probably be looking into it further because it sounds really fascinating.)
