Serendipitous Glitch Final Statement

For this project, I said I wanted to create something colorful and strange, and honestly, I think I pulled it off pretty well. I wish I had more time to work on this project, but my schedule just didn’t allow for it with this project. Mainly, I wish I had had the time to perfect the infinite zoom loop, but unfortunately, I had to just leave it as is so I could focus on finishing the rest of the project. However, I am really pleased with how my still-image glitches and glitch gifs turned out, and I think the first datamosh I did also turned out really well with some pretty cool, melty imagery. I definitely enjoyed getting to mess with all the different types of ways to glitch images and videos. I definitely like the hex code method and the datamosh method the best, I think they give much more unique and interesting glitches. Using Audacity to glitch images was also really interesting, and I think it also created some really cool glitches that fit well with my portfolio for this project. I think the fake glitch in Photoshop was my least favorite technique simply because I think it lacks the randomness of the other techniques. It definitely still has potential, but I liked the variability of the other techniques a lot more. Using AI to generate images was also pretty cool for this project and created some really funky results.

Overall, this project was really fun, and I enjoyed getting to work with a variety of techniques to create glitch art. Some of these techniques are definitely things I will consider using in future art projects, at least in ones I create in my free time, if not for other classes as well.
